Dear Fire Island Pines,

As the last 'summer' weekend in Fire Island Pines draws to a close, I'd like to reflect on the good times had. Friday's in the Ice Palace in Cherry Grove, Low-Middle-High Tea in the Pines, 4th of July, The Pines Party, and Ascension weekend. But most of all, we had another great year with the housesmates: Patrick, Tim, Jerry, and Icarus as well as seeing many other friends at Tea, house parties, and and various events. Walking Teddy on the beach on Saturday mornings was always relaxing... the beautiful beach is unmatched in the northeast.

Today (Tuesday, August 23, 2011), the weather reached 80. Low humidity, calm winds, and blue, blue skies. The ocean is calm and blue. And we had a bit of excitement feeling tremors from an earthquake that centered in VA. But that didn't detract from the magical feeling in The Pines.

Thanks for another wonderful summer. See you two more times in September!
